Doug, just a thought, the 3.73 is 90% of the 4.10 which to me means that
the 4.10 will consume about 10% more fuel at any given speed and load. I
would look at the power and torque curves of the engine and the
estimated rpms for both ear ends at your cruising speed. You may go from
9 to 8 mpg with little or substantial improvement on HP or torque by
going with the 4.10, but it will cost you 10% on fuel all the time
whether you are towing or not.
