[a/s] New Exhaust Fan Cover

Hi Gang,

Ever since I've owned this trailer I have hated the exhaust fan cover. It's
plastic and yellowed. I don't understand why a silver aluminum trailer would
have this ugly yellow plastic cover on its side.

Well, the hailstorm beat the crap out of it, so I needed a new one. I
decided no more plastic.

I unscrewed the one I have and took it to a sheet metal place here in
Bismarck.

I told the guy he just needed to make a piece that would go over it and put
the screw holes in.... that way it would still have the plastic flapper.

When I explained what I wanted and that I wanted it to be stainless
steel..the guy said it would be *really* expensive... <gulp> "How
expensive?" I asked, knowing the plastic ones are $25-30.00 and that I had a
ceiling in my mind of $100.00.

He thought and said that the SS is 12.50 a square foot and it would take 1 sg
ft.
"Okay", I said....

"Then there's my labor... it will be about $25.00..."

I picked it up today. I got some model paint... silver enamel... and painted
the edges of the plastic where it showed.... I also painted the flapper
silver because you can see it.... all the plastic that you can see is now
silver enamel.

If I do say so myself, it looks awesome. I can't tell you how much of a
difference it makes in the appearance of the trailer. The total was $27.00!!!
More than a new plastic one (c:
