That thing you thought might be a drain, is in fact the city water inlet. It
originally had a water hose bib on it. If it doesn't, replace it, hook up a
"white" RV hose from it to a city water tap and turn it on.

The drains are there. The valves are inside to protect them from freezing. The
drain line is all that projects out under the coach. You should have two or three
in the floor below the galley and a couple in the back.

The cause is likely some corrosion on an electrical connection somewhere

Current converter's don't have a hookup for this feature. Only Airstream did
that. A night light is the answer. Some use a plug-in voltmeter.

A penetrating oil sprayed in between the inner and outer arms and at the latch
pins should loosen it up.
