Bamboo is hard ( a little harder than maple) and enviromentally friendly. It
is a grass / reed and continues to grow after cutting. My main concern would
be the weight. (about 2.5 lbs. / sq. ft if 5/8" thick) Bamboo should also be
well acclimated to your climate or shrinkage may result.

My favorite choices for an Airstream  floor would be:
1: Cork -comfortable, warm and durable without much weight, Available in
many attractive designs see http://www.wicanders.com/wic_us.html for one
manufacturer. I would select a glue down version rather than floating to
reduce weight. We have some cork in our home and find it very easy to care
for.

2: Vinyl - low cost and weight with many styles though it can be difficult
to install your self. Preparation of a smooth subfloor is critical.

3:Wood: probably an engineered 3/8" thick strip or parquet to minimize
weight.

Of course these are only hypothetical choices for me as we have yet to
purchase our Airstream. Currently shopping for our tow vehicle.
