RE: [a/s] Plumbing

Dear Don,
	I ran up against the same problem with the kitchen sink on my 66 Safari.  I
purchased the unit in the mountains in Southern Oregon where big snow and
freezes are common.  My pipes did not break though.  The sink had an
incessant leak.  When I tried to fix it, I broke the fixture.

I was able to find a reasonable replacement using a laundry sink fixture
from True Value Hardware.  Getting the old unit off was very difficult.  I
cut the tubing just below the fitting and managed to get a wrench onto the
unit to remove it.  I saved the old hardware and luckily so.

I went throught the same hoops you have experienced with my copper tube not
fitting the new fixture.  Finally I tried using the old fixture on one side
of a new compression fitting to flex hose to the new sink.
Bingo.
