Don, I don't want to continue to beat this one with the freeze theory (which
I do agree with), but I am on my 3rd AS.  The first 2 were 60's era AS
trailers and I did have freeze damage, but my trailers always had larger
than standard tubing, regardless of the need for repair.  I found that
acceptable plastice tubing (for drinking water) and worm drive clamps was a
quick and easy repair.  In an emergency, a piece of water hose (one that is
OK for drinking water &of course using worm drive clamps) works well.  If
you are concerned about the pressure exceeding the strength of the hose, it
can be reinforced with multiple layers of electrical tape, stretched tight,
until a more permanent repair can be done.
