Hi Ken,

I did the same thing on my 31'. Found I had put in the wrong type plate
light. I believe if you look on the bottom of your your bulb there should be
two contact points and not one. I'm not electrical so I don't know what they
are called. I do know it caused everything to short out. When back to the
store got the right one and all worked fine. Hope that helps.
