I was able to get some more info this morning on
the 1975 brake system. According to the local AS repair shop in the Houston
area, the 75 could have come equipped with either electric magnet or disk
brakes. If it had magnet brakes the cost for new pads, magnets and ect. would
run around $500. However if it had disk brakes they have been discontinued and
no parts are available. To convert to electric magnet brakes would run around
$1,000. I just have the feeling the trailer I am looking at has the disk brakes
and the owner does not know which ones. I guess without pulling the wheels it
would be hard to tell. He does not have any manuals.
