Greetings, We are Ted and Michelle from Panama City, Florida, retired military, big on boating, camping (tent) and travel. We will be relocating to Northern California as soon as our house in Panama City sells and will be bringing our newly acquired 1966 Airstream 26 foot Trade Wind with us. We do have three "show stoppers" and will be very grateful for your input. 1 - Tires. The original 7.00x15 tires are a special order item around here and expensive. What experience do you all have with radials? Likely need a load range D truck tire but beyond that there are a lot of choices and prices. 2 - Brake Controller. Any particular brand/model best? Our experience is with surge brakes on boat trailers and we are new to electric brakes. 3 - Running Lights. Big time mystery. Brake, Turn, and front amber clearance lights work but the tail lights and rear clearance lights do not. If we "back power" the rear lights from a seperate battery they all work. There is a broken wire somewhere between, does anyone know the routing for the running light wires from front to back? We will really appreciate your help, Ted and Michelle |
