Does the heater work? you can feel around the tube behind it to see if it
is hot. On gas, you should have a flame near the bottom. On electric, you
should be able to feel the hot tube higher up. If you don't have any heat
(this is what actually "powers" the frig, you won't have any cool!

If you have heat, and can't smell even a trace of ammonia in it or behind
it, try harder. You can probably get it working. Read up on "burping" it.

If you don't have heat, it is easy to fix - just find out why you don't
have heat.

I had to replace two over the years because of ammonia leaks. Recent one
was about $1200.
