I read about the "special" also. I am interested and spent some time
reading the details and wondering if it would be practical for me. 

I noticed some of these are "reconditioned" units. I hope they cleaned them
up. Probably ones the original purchaser decided not to keep. I have to
wonder why they have so many that they can have a "sale" on them...

Also, somewhere in the fine print they tell you that you will need an
adapter to convert the airstream connector (made by Thetford) to their unit
(which uses the "valtera" size, about 1/4 inch difference in diameter).
Alternately, you could just convert your outlet to the valtera size with a
new PVC fitting and toss your Thetford stuff.

They say the "V" model fits all. 

I think I would just buy some hose from the hardware store. That is
probably what they use - the nice clear stuff you can buy in bulk.

They recommend disconnecting the pressure water supply when just using the
gray water gravity drain, so that means you have several steps to go
through to dump the black water.

When I pull up to the usual dump station, there is not usually a hose
connection available. Often a hose, but the threaded tip has usually been
removed. You might have to provide a new water line at a convenient outside
point  from your RV water pump to use it on the road.
