Hi George,

I pull a 1999 - 31 footer and use a Hensley hitch. Expy is 4x4 with 5.4
and  maxed out with this trailer. We previously  had a 25 ft. Safari
which was a perfect match - next tow car a GMC Yukon XL with 6.0.

The rear bumper on the Safari was different than the 31 and I did have a
2x2 receiver custom made which worked well on the smaller trailer. I
sold that at Dayton (I think to Phil Sinewe - who is on this list). The
31 has a longer overhang and a more difficult installation for a
receiver considering the drawer. After setting up camp if we want to go
off and explore without the trailer the bikes are ready to go.

The front receiver is made by Drawtite - I chose a Softride hitch
because it is very well constructed and solid on the car , but a little
more expensive, however it will last a long time. I have had 4 bikes
with no problem. The Bike rack locks on the car and a sturdy locking bar
keeps the bikes safe. I use bungee cords to keep things neat.

A bonus is using the rack on the front of the car as a grill table, which
we did last year a Dayton. I made a fold-up table top which goes on the
rack. The rack folds down to a comfortable level. Rack can be used on
back of car as well when not towing and folds out of the way to give
access to rear door.
