[a/s] New to RV and Airstream.Net

Hi!
 
 My name is Jerry from Houston, TX area and I am looking at buying an
 Airstream trailer. It's great to find a source of other people to get
advice
 and share information with.
 Never owned a RV before but have been reading from the Internet to learn
 something about them before I buy.  I found an add for a 1953 23' Airstream
 in my area. I wanted to get some information on what to look for before I
 look at the trailer.  The floor plan is as follows:  Rear tub and toilet on
 side with desk on opposite side in rear (I guess there was a bed here
 originally),  2 large closets- one each side moving forward with kitchen
 area and entry next with sofa/bed up front.  Owners have replaced (not sure
 if part or all- didn't think to ask) the flooring with 3/4" plywood along
 with the underbelly sheeting - sounds like water problems  or could be just
 do to age I guess.  All appliances may be original and are suppose to work
 except needs an on demand water heater and the refrigerator which owner
says
 they just do not know how to light - has gas to the unit.
 Owner had the trailer weighed, says it weighs 3400#.
