Hey Dan, 

Yes.  ESPECIALLY if it has a rear bath.  We had a 1973, that went back to
factory (years ago, and WE weren't the ones that sent it back), and it was
"re-inforced", it had to do with the weight of the tanks or something to
that effect.  I can't recall all of the details.  Unless someone has a
better suggestion, I would contact your local Airstream dealership and see
what they recommend for getting it re-inforced.
