Listies,
Though we purchased our '93 25' Excella back in January, we
just used it for the first time this past week. Living in central Florida,
we took a 3 day trip to the Keys. I felt compelled to tell the group of our
experience.
We stayed at Bahia Honda State Park. Gorgeous place. We were
lucky enough to get a site directly on the water. We snorkled from our camp
and watched beautiful sunsets everyday. As Kay and I are both divers, we
enjoyed one of the best dives ever. Spectacular fish....many larger than
us....Amber Jack, grouper, barracuda, even saw a nurse shark. We wished it was
lobster season as we saw dozens of spiney lobsters. The coral reefs were also
plentiful and full of life and color. Used a local dive shop for the boat
dive....would really recommend them again...Paradise Divers.
The AS was great, but we did run into two problems, both of
which I've spoken to Chris Bryant about (Bryant RV and a listie). Thought I'd
run them by the group anyway to see if anyone has experienced the same
thing and know of a way to fix.
1) My freezer works perfectly (down to 20 degrees) but the
fridge won't get below 50 degrees. As I've had the AS plugged into ac since
I purchased it, I've had the fridge running full time....and it's worked
fine. But, ever since we unplugged it and switched over to gas, the temp
rose to 50 and sometimes 60. (Obviously, everything soiled.) But when we plugged
it back into the ac, the fridge never dropped down below 50. Again, the freezer
continues to freeze hard. So, is it time for a new one or can it be
repaired with parts?
2) The monitor panel shows that my "black water" tank is
full......when it's empty. A little back ground on this AS: I bought it from an
older couple who had not used it for over a year. The tank was empty when I got
it but possibly residue has dried and harden in the tank. What are my
options?
Thanks in advance for your help.
We're off to Cedar Key on Thursday (west coast of
Florida)
