hi george...the higher ratio would help you out on the hills.  i have a ram 
and i love it , though i have the smaller gear ratio.  when i got mine i 
wanted an 8 foot bed and couldn't find one on the lot, i would have had to 
order it.  i didn't want a club cab, either, because i'm vertically 
challenged (short, that is) so by the time i pull the seat up so i can reach 
the pedals, it's a club cab anyway...why pay extra!  a quad with an 8 foot 
bed will have a monster turning radius.  if you can afford all those extra 
goodies then go for it.  i also got the heavy tow package with the oil 
cooler, but i never intended to pull anything as big as yours so i think my 
set up is enough for me.  p.s.-i ended up with the club cab-they didn't have 
any straight cabs on the lot either, just 147 club cabs with short beds.
