I *think* you are probably correct. Because I do know with my Norcold 
if I am just on the battery and the battery gets low, when the 
voltage gets to low the refrigerator will beep and then shut off. 
When the power gets back to "normal" it will automatically start back 
up in the LP or 110 volt mode depending on whether you are plugged 
into 110 or not.
