[a/s] Zip Dee

I would like to put in a word for the local awning company (Zip Dee).  I stopped in at their factory today and picked up two hinge bars for the awning on my trailer... I consider their treatment of their customers first rate....Zip Dee is a fairly small company ( 25 employees ) and all of their operation is in Elk Grove Village IL....

Once the Zip Dee parts people realized this was my first Zip Dee awning, I got the full treatment on paper work and a short course on what to avoid when working on the awning...

When standing facing the awning, the spring is on the left and the caution is never remove the arm from the head.... the spring is enough to break a hand or wrist if it lets go... The directions are plain as to how to disassemble and the parts are all available from the factory ... I was advised that they ship everywhere and they were very helpful in getting me to the point where I was confident that I was on the right track to getting the awning back in first rate working order... ( one of the previous owners had a close encounter with an imoveable object and bent the bottom piece of the arms , front and back.... I noticed a problem when we picked up the trailer, but was overwhelmed with the overall and the fact that the awning arm was tied together with a bungee cord registered and passed....)

If you have a Zip Dee and have any hint that the unit is not perfect...

Contact the factory with the serial number and hardware code if you have it... year installed and the year of the trailer if you don't....

Get all the instruction material... installation , parts lists, etc...

Order the parts that need replacing ... ( I would leave the spring work to a recommended shop)

We practiced with ours today and I think the awning is ready to go....

See you down the road....
