Pete: You are correct in what you said about fire. As a fire person, teaching
non-fire people (yet), in my classes I refer to fire as if it were alive and
trying to get us if we don't keep up our guard. Fire follows some very strict
rules (convection, conduction, etc.) and NEVER breaks those rules. We can
influence the way the fire burns by things we do (provide drafts, different
fuels, etc.) and WE break the rules. As you most likely realize, sometimes a
source of ignition is unavoidable and when the fuel and the heat come
together.... BOOM... through no fault of ours. We must control either the
fuel, heat or oxygen to keep fire from occurring.
P.S. Ms. Hunter has me gun-shy, I spell chech everything now...Bill
