It does go by weight.  We talk and disagree about this a lot on this list.  I 
think it depends on your comfort level.  I wouldn't pull that big trailer 
with a 6cyl engine.  Others here will say it's great.

If you like going up hills at 35-40 mph while the rest of the world is going 
65-70 then you will like towing with that "big 6"  Personally, I like more 
truck than I can squeak by with.

Do you have your owner's manual?  If so it will tell you what the van's tow 
rating is.  What year is the van?  What model?  What rear end?
