Hi Dave,

Airstream's Univolt has always been noisy. Its caused by the
laminations in the transformer. And it will only get louder with
age. I know of nothing you can do to quiet the thing it down. It
not only is loud but will boil the water from your batteries. I
replaced mine with a modern battery charger with an automatic
taper and shut off for when the batteries are charged. I don't
worry about "original" or "authentic". I want something that
works.
