There has been some discussion about mildew on this list.  I'd like to add
my two cents based on experience.

I had a popup trailer for years.  The mildew that collected over the winter
was terrible.  Then I went to a 16.9' travel trailer and still had to fight
mildew but not as badly as in the popup.

For the last 4 years I've been an Airstream owner.  The vents have Maxxaire
covers on them which means I can leave the vents open all the time.  In
addition (and this might just be a waste of money with the vents open) I
keep a substance in the trailer that absorbs moisture.  It does a good job
based on the amount of water I see collected in the bottom of the plastic
container.

The bottom line is I see no mildew and I smell no mildew.  That is quite a
pleasant change from my experience with previous trailers as noted above.

Of  course this information is of no help for those that have mildew, but it
should be useful in prevented mildew.
