Re: [a/s] Carpet question



1989 excella 29 foot. Carpet was laid first, everything installed over it.

We toured the factory in '96. I _think_ I remember seeing them built this
way - put down the carpet first, then install the cabinetry (but my wife
Oleta cannot confirm - she just doesn't remember).

Carpet first is obviously more efficient (and therefore less expensive) -
no difficult "cut to fit" later.

We have had used Airstreams in the past in which a previous owner had
replaced the carpet, and in those it was obvious that the original carpet
had been installed under everything because the later installer did not
remove the original carpeting under cabinets - the original carpet was
still there, usually in a different color, and usually with the plastic
still in place.
