I know I am butting in the middle here and am not aware of the thread the
preceded it.  Yet, I must say that I have found truckers very helpful when I
am towing my 29' Airstream.  Truckers much more often than ordinary cars
will blink their lights when I pass letting me know that it is safe to cut
in front of them.

I have found them to be of great help on the CB radio, giving useful advice
during inclement weather, during traffic jams etc.

It is true that when they pass you they push a lot of air, especially the
older trucks, and that has an effect on your towing.  I have two antisway
bars on my hitch consequently the sway is not so bad and I recognize the
feeling the minute it happens and never have had a problem.

The biggest problem I have had with trucks is when driving on slushy roads,
or roads that have accumulated a lot of water.  When they pass you a lot of
crap gets tossed in your path and on your windscreen.  I'm not sure what
they can do except slow down.  However, they usually are going at a normal
and I assume safe speed for them.  Me, on the other hand, during such
driving conditions usually slow down considerably.
