Crystal -

According to our 1966 Overlander Owner's Manual:

"the top of the hitch ball should be approximately 20.5" from the ground,
with the car level and not attached to the trailer.  If this dimension is
maintained, the car and trailer will be level."

This should allow you to calculate the correct drop on your hitch bar....put
in any hitch bar and ball with a known drop, and measure from the top of the
ball to the ground...then add or subtract inches to get to 20.5...
