I had to comment on this reply to Tim Cooks question
about some side lights.

I'm sure most of you would think "this goes without
saying" but (whenever possible) verify your guages with
some kind of extra test.  e.g. make sure the signal
lights are actually flashing when the gauges say they
are flashing.

This correspondence verification holds to battery
meters, smoke/CO alarms, holding tank gauges, hookup
power wiring, trailer wiring, *insert additional items*

The credit for this idea goes to "phred" Tinseth...one
of the first and most informative no-nonsense RV
resource I found when getting into the full-timing idea
over two years ago.
