Don't be too quick to make a lot of revisions to the "all original" 74...
With the unit now a vintage trailer via the 25 year rule, surely some
collector is interested in the "all original" part of the unit...
I have been somewhat surprised at the willingness of the group at large to
change (usually for the better) their Airstream by upgrading fixtures,
furniture, interior layout etc.etc....Restorers of other vintage items, like
tools, cars, guns and the like are prone to value the item on a descending
scale from like new original down to rebuilt with new (modern) parts...I'm
sure that there are some vintage Airstream people that feel the same way...
My personal inclination (particularly at this late date) is to accumulate
only those things that I admire and to rebuild, upgrade, retrofit etc.
anything that doesn't meet the common sense test....I probably won't win any
prizes, but I think I will have a lot of fun....
