This has probably been well hashed over on the list before I
got here, but I have read about OPD valves and the mandatory 2002
changeover. I have two 30 pound steel tanks which will be 12 years old in Oct.
of this year. My understanding is that they must be 'recertified' every 12
years. My questions are:
Who recertifies tanks?
How much should it cost to have this done?
How much should it cost to have new OPD valves
installed?
With the OPD changeover coming, would buying new tanks with
OPD valves make more sense than recertifying old tanks and having the OPD valves
installed?
