To install a switch turning off the furnace
when the door is opened, or at any other
time, IS DANGEROUS.  The blower runs
after the fire is out in order to flush the 
system of unburned gas(es).  If the furnace should be shut down before
this
occurs, there is the high likelihood of an
explosive ignition when it is re-ignited.

One possibility would be to install a switch
to turn off the gas flow and shut down the
flame while the blower continues in operation.  Then, after an
appropriate delay to flush the system, the flow of propane could be
started with the usual
ignition process.

Before any one tries any of these procedures, contact the engineering
division of Suburban Furnaces in Dayton,
Tennessee.  These people are professionals and their RV furnaces are
but a small part of their total production.
It was a sad day when the plant at Dayton
ceased servicing or replacing furnaces,
forced on them, I understand, for legal
and insurance reasons.

Use extreme caution when tampering with
any propane system.
