Re: [a/s] Batteries and Generators
Robert..
No experience here, unless you want to call all this research experience. I
saw an under floor mounting arrangement from one of the manufacturers and
now that I want to give them credit, I can't find the proper brochure. The
Honda 4K RV model needs 15" clearance for the unit and some space under the
unit for air flow . I did see a travel trailer with a "portable generator"
in a pipe frame mounted on top of the back bumper... ( not an RV model) In
an old Camping World catalog, (page 145, 96 catalog) they say that Under
Floor Mounting Kits are available for Emerald Plus, MicroLite and Marquis
Generators...(Onan)
I have some relatives that use a "portable" and just drop it on the ground
and plug the service cable into the generator....Not a problem when you camp
alone....
I think it's Chris Bryant that has his in his pickup...
With our 23' we have the bed in the front and the electric service in the
back. Makes sense to have the generator in the back....I will take a look
at the rear end with having a special "box" in the rear in mind...
One of the negatives would be having the exhaust percolating up through the
trailer... The RV models vent the exhaust out the bottom and if you don't
pipe it up....?????
I hope the "ideal plan" surfaces....
