Tim, let me give you a couple of my own
opinions; some may differ.  That gash in
the door can be a costly item, unless you
just want to put a patch over it.  Water
damage from frozen plumbing can be 
costly if it has caused warping or other
deterioration of the floor.  And it is not 
exactly easy to replace the water lines,
etc.  You will want to take a screw driver,
not sharp, and on the inside go all around
the walls insofar as you can reach them, punching at the floor to be
sure it is solid.
If you find soft spots, you may be faced 
with replacing sections (or the entire floor) and that, either way is a
job.  Check the
flooring around toilet, shower/tub, kitchen
sink, and the fridge, as well as the entrance way.  When weighing the
low
price, consider that replacement of the 
Fridge is going to set you back more than
a thousand dollars.  And are you sure the
furnace works?  Only way to know is to
fire it up, let it run until the thermostat 
turns it off, then after several minutes,
run the thermostat up a few notches to
see if it comes on, runs/heats, and turns
off (remember, there will be a delay of
several seconds before it comes on, and
then a cool down after the burner goes
off for several minutes).

There is more to say, but it is already
Monday morning (barely) and you will
be going to take a look-see soon.  Thought I should give you some
guidelines.  Take into consideration 
all of the things you would in buying an
elderly used automobile, such as tires,
batteries, etc.
