Hello, All:

I recently found myself at the web page of a company in California which
rented and sold vintage trailers, many being Airstreams. I've forgottenthe
exact web site, but I believe the company used to go by the name "Iowa
Boys". Some of the Airstreams were described as having been "acid washed",
but not buffed (meaning the buffing was still to come).
I recall stern warnings from VAC members in the past (probably throughthe
newsletter) regarding acid washes. If I'm going to buff anyway, isthe acid
wash a safe way to save some of the heavy labor involved in a "from
scratch" buffing job? If so, what acid and what concentration, andwhat
needs protection prior to the wash? What polishing compound is typically
required following an acid wash? Anyone have any experience with this?(No
clearcoat on my "62.)
