It might be possible to replace the shocks without completely removingthe axle.
Loosen the front bolts, remove the rears, then allow the axle assyto drop down
at the rear. If that doesn't work, you can remove both bolts from onlyone side
at a time, and only the rear from the other. Let the "loose" side drop,change
out the shock, attach the front bolt, then do the other. This mightmake it just
a bit easier if you don't have a floor jack to set the axle on. Thelatter makes
it an easy job, however.
