Daisy - I think I had at least one valve open when attempting to use
the pump, the valve at the tank thinking it would allow water to the
pump. Looking at it again, this valve, when closed, seems to route
the tank water to the pump - if I'm looking it correctly. I'll try
it again with all valves closed.

The hot water heater is on the street side while the two valves are
on the curb side. There doesn't appear to be a valve at the water
heater. I've been told that at least one valve is for draining the
system. And when I open it, water does come out onto the ground.

The pump was running. It's a neat little jobbie with a belt drive.
Water attempted to squirt out of a faucet now and then. Also, I
could hear air coming out between squirts of water making me think
the pump is trying to work. Maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks for the help. It will be a couple of days before I can get
back to testing it again but will let you know the results.
You can imagine attempting to do all the daily necessities of life on
just for quarts of water I had in the working frig! And the outside
temp was in the 90s with 110 inside during the day! Primitive
camping? Some people know how to have real fun!
