Hi Warren:

Overlanders were built for decades, so I have no idea what year 
Overlander you might be talking about.  Nevertheless, during the mid 
1960s, as an extra cost option Airstream would install a pull out double 
bed (similar to a gaucho [convertible couch] up front that converts into 
a bed) in place of a fixed double bed in double bed Overlanders.

The fourth trailer down from the top in the 1965 Overlander group here:

has this pull out double bed option, opposite the full length closet and 
adjacent shorter chest of drawers. As you can see, it looks like a couch 
when not pulled out.  Does the trailer you are considering might the 
same thing?
