Dan, The problem with the rubber washers is two-fold: The joint is not as tight as a washerless rivet The rubber will deteriorate, leaving a loose rivet, and a potential leak. I would use a washerless Olympic rivet, and dip it in sealer before installation, as was suggested earlier. Uwe
