Jo Ann,
I think my 57 Sovereign of the Road has the same window style as your 57
Bubble. If so, that style was changed in 58 or 59. So the 62 gaskets would
not fit. My 59 Ambassador has windows which require the gasket offered by
AirstreamDreams. The earlier gasket is available however I don't have the
contact information. There is a guy who advertises quite frequently on the
VAC classifieds located in California that offers this gasket at about
$1/ft. Its a private person not InlandRV. This style of window was only used
for several years from 57 or so back. If you check out the archive section
of www.vintageairstream.com you will see the differences in window styles
and hopefully pinpoint exactly what your looking for.
Good luck with it.

JoAnn - the contact info for the guy with the window/door rubber
replacements is Richard Rodrigues In Downey, CA. He can be reached at
562.869.0457 and his email is putzrs@xxxxxxxxxx.com. I've ordered from him before
and he'll treat you right.

Colin (& Jo Ann)
AirstreamDreams continues to do it! Steve just added the mid 1950's
window pane gasket and the window seal that rivets to the window
opening:
http://airstreamdreams.com/category.html?UCIDs=1050632

They appear to be like the originals.
Now if we could get him to make the window opening seal for the '61 to
'65 windows....

I just took ours out to replace the skin panel:
http://vintageairstream.com/Myrtle/axle.html

The intake and exhaust pipes you noted are slip jointed together midway
between the skin and the furnace back, and then sealed circumferentially
with a piece of duct tape. Mine was able to twist/pull apart, but you
may have to soak the inside joint with penetrant, accessed from inside
the burner can and the outside cover.

There used to be an install manual on the VAC website manual section
that should the installation.
http://airstream.org./resources.html

Toby, where'd the manual section go?

Best of luck,
RJ

I have a 68 Overlander. I couldn't get the shell of
the furnace out without taking apart the cabinet or
cutting up the shell. It looks as though they built
the cabinet around it. It was possible to remove the
guts of the furnace. They were mounted on a sub-frame
that slid right out. This would have permitted
replacement with the same model...30 years ago.

I used the old jig saw with a fine-tooth metal blade.
It cut through that old shell like butter...

one logs in. Is this a temporary thing?

I looked at what Steve has and it appears to be the gasket for the
window frame. I need the gasket or seal that runs around the perimeter
of the glass pane.

The below is site for a wheel lock called PetBull. It is a pricey but
not so bad when you think of it as insurance. I use one on my Bubble

The guy in Auburn's name is Vince Martinico - he has a big collection of older vintage
trailers of many types, and sells some occasionally, but he doesn't have a parts business
so far as I know. Colin must be talking about someone else.

Daisy,

The 15" wheel size has not changed from before your 73 to the current
production, except for the early (98) Safari's which used a 14" wheel. So go for
them as long as they are 15".

Good evening to all,
Having used Vulkem 636 on my '65, I have located the
manufacturer and a list of distributors. They do not
make 636 anymore. They have a 911 in gray and
aluminum. Having used the old, this is the stuff. Go
to tremcosealants.com and they have a link to find
your nearest distributor.
The best part of all this, I found a distributor less
than 5 miles from my house and only cost $3/tube

virtually the same for 636 and 116.
