Well I dont know if it would of caught on fire or not , but < wont usually
catch fire > isnt good enough for me to sleep well in . After what I saw when
I took the inner skin down on my trailer , I would`nt say they are restored
unless the insulation is out . I suppose wrapping with tape is ok , But new
wire is better . Also it doesnt take a big hole for them to get in , they can
go thru the 1/2 " triangular holes where the horizontal frames meet the bows
, and surrounding the furnace and water heater there are cutouts in the inner
skin that are 1' x1.5" , providing easy access . I intend to block those off
with C shaped strips before the furnace is reinstalled , I stuffed other
places with alum screen crumpled up . Mice are the ruination of these
trailers , and I dont think any 40 year old trailer hasnt seen a mouse or two
, and the consequent damage cause .

Hi All, Sometime back I promised one of you the old taillights
that I had planned to replace with new ones. I put that person's
email address up and guess what ... senior moment ...I cant find
it to let the fellow know that I'm going to use the old Bargman
lens to keep the original look. If you are the "fellow" I won't
be able to send the lights to you. Sorry.

Not having any clue where you folks reside makes this a bit iffy.
I happened onto the following sites and it is obvious these people are:

1).In the glass business
2).Own or owned an Airstream
3).Refurbed it and probably will understand your needs (or at least sympathize).
4).Apparently do mail-order biz as well as on site.
5).Are/were located in Mexica'fornia.

Might be helpful to your list-mates if you'd post what they are like assuming you try them.
I have never done biz with them nor communicated with them.

I would like to encourage you to check out this guy's web site and
trailer saga. It's hysterical and very interesting. I feel better about
my ordeals already. And his business web site is also not to be missed.

Hello All,

Below is a copy of an E-mail I received. The producer David, is looking
for an "Airstream Cook"! He wants to do a show on Airstreamers who get
together and cook. I told him the cleanest an most unused furnishing in
my 59 is the oven! He looking for a group or so that gets together to
cook at a different level than we (the Emericks) do, you know someone
who actually goes beyond sandwiches and take out Chinese food. I gave
him a call and told him I would post his request so here it is. I know
that there are killer cooks in this group, get in touch with him and
show him your stuff!

The mechanic across the street from my dad-in-law installed hydraulic
brakes from a later model on a '36 (?) Ford coupe last year. He said it
was nice to have brakes that actually slowed the car, even if they were
only 1939 drum brakes - they were a lot better than the mechanical (rod)
brakes.

balanced in my dad's cars when I was a kid. He carried a wrench in the
car and when he detected a pull, he stopped and made an adjustment.

stopped us nearly every trip to check the brakes.

many decades ago I had a modl"A" ford wiyh rod bakes stopping was a true
adventure,You knew always one wheel would lock up.Never the same one as last
time.On slippery roads You never knew which wat it would spin out.Such fun.The
older Chivies were eaven more fun in the winter road slush would get into the
housing of the cables and setting ae night as the temp fell they would freeze up
which led to no brakes.Always fun
