No Dave. 240 volt RV receptacles that meed code have four pins, two,
hots, neutral and ground. Connecting a 120 volt adapter is safe. The
adaptor won't fit the old 240 volt range receptacle that has ground and
neutral wired together.

240 volts line to line three phase gives 138 volts line to neutral, not
208. That 138 is just about as hard on lamps as 208 though. Connecting
both sides of a 240 volt load together so each leg gets 120 volts to
neutral but nothing between the 240 volt lines IS a short of those 240
volt LOADS but is NOT a short of the power source. I've been doing that
here and in my barn for up to 25 years. I connect the generators through
interlocked circuit breakers or a transfer switch depending on the
location. I KNOW it works. NO ARC, NO SHORT, NO OVERLOAD. The 240 volt
range, the 240 dryer, and the 240 volt water heater get no power and
don't work.

Electricians and plant owners hire ME when they can't figure out their
circuits.

Ok, Gerald, Now you have enough detail to make some sense. Sounds like
we do similar work.
I'm still trying to get my black water tank fixed and back in the
trailer. I have a 71 Safari. El Monte Plastics made the tank, but no
longer has the mold. Inca Plastics (they are the current Airstream tank
supplier) does not have the mold either. Airstream is sold out of this
tank. I've tried to repair the tank using plastic welding and hope it
holds. If this does not work, I'll have to have a metal tank made. Any
help/advice about replacement tanks would be apprecated. And please, no
advice that Ronco Plastics can make the tank. They don't have a mold
either. Has any body used fiberglass for their black water tank?

Thanks,
Dave Beard

Hey Chris - sorry to hear about the disgruntled neighbors. They can be a
real pain. Tell us about this 22 footer. Are you sure it is a Trade Wind?
The Trade Winds were 24' and started production in 1959. What is the year of
mfgr. on this unit? What is the trim package: standard, Land Yacht or Int'l?
I sure someone will come to your aid and purchase your unit.

Jim,

You cannot send pictures to the list. We block all attachments, so as to
prevent any viruses from being sent via the list. I have however set up a
photo gallery on the site, and you can post your pictures there.

Go to http://www.tompatterson.com/VALgallery/index.php for the gallery. If
you have any questions, let me know off list, and I can talk you through
setting the pictures up.

Bill,

I would not walk directly on the roof. The thought of punching dents in
looms greatly in my mind so I placed carpet upside down then small pieces of
plywood to match the structural joists. Once a dent is put in it doesn't
come out. Good luck, GAS
