Toby,

Used to be believed that you couldn't water grass in the sunlight because
the droplets would magnify the light, causing heated spots on the blades of
grass which would lead to a burnt lawn.  This was fable then and it is still
fable today.

Having rain drops on your airstream would only produce problems on the
aluminum IF it wasn't polished; just like having rain drops on your car
which you should also keep polished.

It is the acids in rain drops that will do you in sooner than expected IF
you don't keep a barrier of polish on the metal.
