how thoroughly did you clean the surface before you
painted?

I've got that stuff (oily brown etc.) on the inside of
mine from where I let stripper sit, and scraped, but
did not wash the panels.

If that turns out to be the case, only resolution is
to re-strip, re-clean, re-paint.  take heart, it'll be
easier with new paint.
