Using walnut shells for your media will remove any protactive coating you may have. I'm refering to the Alclad, if it's on the tanks at all. I'm not to sure. But you can get a plastic bead media that will work just as well, without causing any damage to the tank itself. It's also cheaper than walnut shell media. Robert Gill Valdosta, Ga
