I wouldn't count on Europe being much fun either, as Wayne notes.  The
images of driving your big airstream through quaint mountain roads and
little villages among happy townsfolk from the '50 & '60's is as dated
as being able to drive carefree through Yellowstone Park or the Mayberry
visage we have of little Southern towns.

Europe has modernized, gentrified and generified just like the US, but
in a smaller land area (work makes me go there).  Now Russia, that would
be interesting, but who has months and the $$$ to spend on such an
adventure? Only the very few...

Times have changed.  This was your downer for the day.
