20 pound tanks with the new valves (that prevent over filling) are not
expensive. 30 pound tanks are enough more expensive that having a local
propane seller inspect the tanks and replace the valves with the tanks
filled cost me less last summer than one new tank.

Old regulators are not trustworthy, the working diaphragm is made of
rubber coated cloth, likely to be rotten now. It should be replaced on
general safety principles.
