Ideas for 2nd battery installation needed?

I would like to add a second battery to my Streamline. The only problem is that my equalizer connections are installed on the A-frame in the same location that a double tray would have to be installed. I currently have a center battery pack on a factory installed plate behind the tanks and between the twin a-frame members. The only think I can think of is to use some angle iron and build a rack about 5 inches above the current position to allow twin batteries behind the tanks and also to permit easy access to the equalizer connections.

If anyone has any ideas, please share them!

James,

I had a single battery on the factory plate behind the propane tanks on my '65, and replaced it with a larger, wider plate on which I was able to mount two batteries instead of the one. In my case however, the original plate sat on top of the a-frame members.

Perhaps a more powerful battery might be in order?

My 63 Duchess has a booth/bed in the forward right hand corner. I have two batteries under the seat and a marine switch installed. A 1K inverter is mounted on the side panel next to the batteries. I have a solar panel/wind deflector on top that keeps the whole mess perking! The deflector is mounted so that air is deflected over the air conditioner. My spare is behind the propane tanks. I had to cut the metal water tank in two pieces to get it out and replace it with a demand/plastic 20 gal system.
