Hey thanks for your help Tom!
Well I'm currently replacing the plywood floor in the rear bath area, it's trashed! I got a few questions;
1, how do you remove the toilet?
2, none of the 110 wall outlets are working, the lights and the Air conditioning work, I've tried the flip'n the breakers, nothing...
If ya got any ideas, throw 'em at me! thanks again! -Joey

Most marine toilets have two nuts which hold them in place. One is usualy located below the foot pedal. To reach the other there is a round plug beneith the toilet seat. Remove the plug and access the retaining nut with a socket and long extension.
Good Luck

OOPS
Did I say marine? To many long days on a boat. I should have said most RV toilets.

You are maybe also talking about your Travel Home toilet. Mine was a recycling marine head, which I replaced with a modern Thetford.

Do you have any GFI outlets? I have one on one of my trailers and couldn't figure out why some of the 110V lights wouldn't work until I checked and found that the outlet had tripped, shutting down everything downstream of the outlet.

By Joey on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 - 11:31 am:

No, I don't see any GFIs... there are a couple of three way toggle switches in the back, I noticed that at least one of them needs to be all the way down for the lights to work. I've tried different combinations on these switches, and still no power to the wall outlets... any clues?
I got the toilet out by the way. The two retaining bolts Mike talked about broke loose from the base and were spinning 'round and 'round. I wound up twisting the toilet and the base off of the holding tank. I'm getting ready to cut some new plywood for the bathroom floor, hopefully it will go in fairly easily... yeah right!! thanks again for the help!

Another ? about polishing this beauty.

Can u polish a 1972 or 73 Imperial?

By Tom Patterson on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 - 01:42 am:

I don't think you can polish a '72 or '73 because it is the anodized aluminum. Do a search on my site. There are a lot of postings dealing with rotten floors. Many people have used a product called git rot to avoid having to replace.

Hi Tom,

I have finally pulled my 1964 Streamline Countess (23-24?ft)out of the woods and I am starting renovation. Unfortunately I have discovered several disturbing things. 1: Rats, mice and other rodents were eating poision in the trailer under the bed. I was forced to remove the origional bed. It really has one heck of a bad smell that I am trying to get rid of. The water heater is under the bed and it appears to be where the rodents entered, I would like to plug the holes they are entering from but I need and idea what to use and how to find the holes.??
My other main problem is that it was sitting under a pine tree and the finish on the aluminium is really bad. I want the shine but I don't know where to start.

Lastly, The refrigerator is not working...yet... but I would rather fix it than throw it. (Alaska Werks/ Made in West Germany) I have not tested the Water and Gas yet but the interior electricity if fine. Otherwise the interior is all origional and in good condition.

The tail lights are not working either.

The good news: I will be running a campsite here in Duluth, MN over the summer and I have full hook up sites available. If anyone is interested in coming up to Duluth over the summer let me know and I will give you a deal.

Thanks,
Jeff

I am looking at rv's for the first time. Was looking at older airstreams, then ran across streamline for sale. Seller seem to think it was better than airstream. Would like comments as to pro's and con's of each. Looks like one of you guys could be alot of help. I have little knowledge on rv's. Just don't like the plastic one's
Thanks in advance for your help.
