This particular unit really is in "like new" condition. Not only do I not see any ordinary dents, but I also don't see any of the stone dents on the front of the unit such as I have on mine. You simply can't avoid these, and I have to wonder just how few miles are on the trailer.

Note the wheel covers on the unit. These are the original ones which snap on to the side of the trailer. I presume that the awning too is an original one. I expect that it has stripes similar to the ones on the wheel covers.

I wish they had put some of the interior shots on the site.

Hi Phil,

I have been meaning to get back to you, but assumed that you are still touring (and maybe you are!). We enjoyed our visit with you, and the tour of Nashville. Unfortunately, later that night we received word that Marilyn's mother had suffered a stroke (which was incorrect), so we returned to Houston, rather than continuing on up to Ohio.

I do have the pictures and will be placing them up on the website after the next trip which starts Thursday, to Colorado.

The aluminum polish I spoke of is Zephyr Pro 40, which is manufactured in California by Zephyr. I picked it up at the Rush Peterbilt truck center here in Houston, but you might check a truck dealer in Nashville. Like many aluminum polishes, it has a jewellers rouge base.

I still owe you a couple of spring bars. E-mail me the address that I can send them to.

Tom, is zephyr a polish that pulls the shine up, or a metal wax that keeps the shine?

We have good techniques for making aluminum shine, but we are continuelly searching for the very best way. what ever that is.

Zephyr, like other aluminum polishes, is an abrasive with a jewellers rouge base. It actually removes a small portion of the surface metal.

Aluminun, just like iron, oxidizes and forms a surface layer of oxidized metal. In the case of iron, this oxidation is rust. In the case of aluminum, the oxidation is a very tight surface layer with a gray color. This layer, unlike rust, will seal the surface and prevent the oxidation from continuing.

What you are doing when you polish is removing the layer.
