After receiving numerous whacks on the head from cabinets that were not securely held open, because the magnets were not strong enough, I checked at the local Home Depot and found some of the part that attach to the ceiling that are identical to the original ones -- just a little darker shade of brown. They are made in China and have a lable of "Liberty Hardware". There is a number C08700C-T-P on the lable as well as "1285", which is the number that Home Depot had them under.

Have you tried these yet? Do they hold the cabinet doors up?

Yes, much better than the existing ones. The magnets are stronger. I really think that the existing ones weakened over the years. I replaced all 15 that were in the Travel Home.

Tom-

I cleaned each of my magnets with steel wool several years ago and all of mine still hold the doors up well. I have also seen these at the local RV salvage yard in Denver. Thanks for the info for future reference. I also bought a few extra latches that were original with the little white plastic push buttons on each end. All of mine still worked but I thought the springs may wear out down the line.
