Tongue jack

I replaced the tongue jack on my 1972 Streamline today. The old one that was on the trailer when I bought it was a hydraulic jack and leaked badly. As a result, oil from the jack had covered much of the hitch area, including the safety chains and electrical pigtail. Quite a mess! If left for any time at all, more fluid had to be added before the jack would work. My first picture shows the front end of the trailer and the old jack just after I had removed it. Removing was easy.....just remove three bolts. Installing the new one was harder. While the three bolts would fit right back in, there was a plate on the bottom of the tongue with a hole through which the jack had to fit. Unfortunately, the hole was about 1/8 inch too small. I used a Dremel tool to grind the steel plate so as to enlarge the hole. This took about 45 minutes, and used up several little grinding wheels. There is no electricity available at the storage lot where I have my trailer, so I had to use an inverter, powered off of my truck battery.
Picture two shows the inverter, while picture three shows the completed installation of the new electric jack, as well as the battery box behind the propane tanks.
The last picture is of the battery box holder, before I put the battery back. The holder looks bad, but actually, the metal is sound, as I found when I drilled some holes through it in order to fasten the battery box down. It will be fine with a little paint.
