Hi Folks, I posted a message under a message board posting of "1958 Streamline" and then figured out how to post a "new conversation" message. So to be somewhat redundant- I found a very nice 1971 Streamline 27ft trailer for sale. Don't know the exact model, but it is very clean and straight, the skin will polish out well. The lower "rocker panel" areas have the typical scrapes and scratches, the interior is very nice, orginal and unmolested. The owner says all appliances work, with the exception of the roof a/c fan motor. Overall, a very nice trailer it seems! I have owned about 5 Airstreams, several Boles Aeros, a couple of Barths, an El Rey and a Silver Streak, but never a Streamline. I do know the history of the Silver Streak and Streamline company, but know nothing of Streamline values. The owner will not take less then $3,500 so I am trying to figure out if this is a "good" deal?? Does anyone want to venture thier opinion? I value good advice from knowledgeable folks on things I know very little about, so would be happy to have other folk's "take" on this trailer. Thanks! Dennis B theburts_97846@yahoo.com

Dear Dennis,
Have the current owner hook up the 120 volt power supply at his property and the city water connection by garden hose. Check the voltage inverter and charger, check the 12 volt battery and all the 12 volt appliances. Check the 120 volt appliances and outlets. Check the propane system and all appliances. Make sure the a.c. and the furnace work. Make sure the fridge works. Fill the freshwater tank. Check for leaks. See if the 12 volt compressor works and pressurizes the tank. Fill the waste tanks. See if they leak. Check the gauges at the control panel. See if the dump valves operate. Check for mildew and water leaks on the walls & ceiling. If everything is o.k. then that asking price is very fair. If anything is broken, begin deducting from the asking price. Remember, the owner set the price and represented the condition.
Good luck!
